Scheduling your first chiropractic visit is a practical first step when pain, stiffness, limited movement, or an injury is getting in the way of your day. At Canada Chiropractic, the first appointment starts with a conversation where Dr. Canada asks questions designed to help her understand what is bothering you, how it is affecting your life, and what next steps may be appropriate.
Whether you are looking for help with back pain, neck discomfort, headaches, sciatica, or a movement-related concern, the goal is not to put every patient through the same routine. Your history, symptoms, movement, health considerations, and goals all matter.
Before Your Appointment
Completing your new-patient forms before your visit helps us prepare for your appointment and allows more time to focus on your concerns once you arrive. You can complete the necessary paperwork in advance on our New Patient Forms page.
It can also be helpful to bring:
- Your insurance information, if you plan to use insurance
- A current list of medications or relevant health information
- Any recent imaging or reports related to the condition you want evaluated, if you have them
- Questions you would like to discuss with Dr. Angie
You do not need to know exactly what is causing your symptoms before your appointment. Dr. Angie will ask about when the problem began, what makes it better or worse, how it affects your daily activities, and whether you have experienced similar symptoms before.
Wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily can also make the examination more convenient, since Dr. Angie may evaluate your mobility, movement, and other physical findings related to your symptoms.
If you have questions about insurance coverage or payment options before your visit, you can review our Insurance & Payment Options page or contact Canada Chiropractic directly.
Your First Visit Starts With a Conversation
Your appointment begins with a discussion about your symptoms, health history, daily activities, and what you would like to be able to do more comfortably. That may include work demands, sports or exercise, sleep, a recent injury, or everyday movements that have become difficult.
Dr. Angie Canada, DC uses that information to consider how joints, muscles, soft tissues, movement, and daily activities may relate to your symptoms. This approach helps guide an evaluation that fits the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all plan.
An Individualized Examination
When appropriate, the evaluation may include looking at posture, range of motion, movement patterns, and orthopedic findings. The purpose is to better understand what may be contributing to your concern and whether chiropractic care may be a reasonable option.
For example, a patient seeking back pain treatment may have different contributing factors than someone dealing with neck pain, sciatica symptoms, or a sports-related problem. A thoughtful evaluation helps keep recommendations connected to your specific findings.
Discussing Your Care Options
After the evaluation, Dr. Angie will explain the findings in clear, practical terms and discuss options that may fit your needs. Depending on the individual situation, care may include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques, therapeutic massage, movement-based guidance, or other supportive approaches.
Not every concern is best addressed with the same type of care. If your symptoms suggest that imaging, additional medical evaluation, or another type of provider may be appropriate, those options can be discussed as well. The focus is on helping you understand your choices and make an informed decision about next steps.
Will I Be Adjusted at My First Visit?
Usually, yes. If your history and examination indicate that chiropractic treatment is appropriate, care may begin during your first appointment. Dr. Angie will explain the recommended approach and answer your questions before treatment begins.
Will I Need X-Rays at My First Chiropractic Visit?
Not necessarily. Dr. Angie does not rely on routine imaging for every patient. Your health history, symptoms, examination findings, and other clinical considerations help determine whether imaging may be useful. If imaging or additional medical evaluation appears appropriate, those options can be discussed with you.
Insurance, Payment, and Practical Questions
Questions about coverage and billing are common, especially before a first appointment. Canada Chiropractic can help you understand the information you receive from your insurer, while your plan ultimately determines coverage and patient responsibility. Our Insurance and Payment Options page explains the types of questions that can be useful to ask about chiropractic benefits, deductibles, copays, and referrals.
If you are unsure whether chiropractic care is a fit for your situation, you are welcome to reach out with a general question or request an appointment. Please avoid sending private health information through the website contact form; patient-care concerns are best discussed during a scheduled appointment.
