Chiropractic Care in Salt Lake City
How Spinal Adjustments Work
Chiropractic adjustments are used to improve motion in joints that are not moving as well as they should. Because the neck, mid-back, low back, pelvis, and other joints all move differently, Dr. Angie tailors each adjustment to the area being treated, your symptoms, and your comfort level.
- Care is based on your health history, movement, and exam findings
- Techniques are selected for the specific joints and tissues involved
- Adjustments may be combined with soft tissue work and home exercises when appropriate
Chiropractic Care Focused on Movement and Function
In Salt Lake City
Chiropractic care focuses on the musculoskeletal system—the joints, muscles, and connective tissues that influence how you move and feel. At Canada Chiropractic, Dr. Angie Canada, DC evaluates the areas contributing to pain, stiffness, or restricted movement and builds care around what she finds during your exam.
Treatment may include chiropractic adjustments to improve joint mobility, along with soft tissue therapy, massage therapy, Graston Technique, or corrective exercise when those approaches fit your needs. Care is not based on a one-size-fits-all approach. The goal is to use the right combination of treatment to improve comfort, mobility, and function.
Chiropractic care is commonly used for mechanical back pain, neck pain, headaches associated with neck tension, sports-related problems, and other musculoskeletal concerns. When symptoms indicate that imaging, additional medical evaluation, or another type of care may be appropriate, Dr. Angie can refer accordingly.
Conditions Chiropractic Care May Help Address
Back Pain
Back pain can develop from joint restriction, muscle tension, overuse, posture, injury, or a combination of factors. Chiropractic care may help improve mobility and address mechanical factors that contribute to discomfort. Learn more about back pain chiropractic care.

Sciatica
Sciatica can cause pain, tingling, numbness, or discomfort that travels from the lower back or hip into the leg. Joint & Mobility Issues
Restricted movement can affect more than the spine and may involve the shoulders, hips, knees, or other joints. Dr. Angie evaluates how the joints and surrounding soft tissues are functioning and may use chiropractic adjustments and supportive therapies to improve mobility. Learn more about Graston Technique and soft tissue care.
TMJ-Related Discomfort
Jaw tension and TMJ-related discomfort can sometimes involve muscle tightness, joint restriction, and tension through the neck and surrounding areas. Treatment may include gentle manual techniques and soft tissue care based on the individual findings. Learn more about TMJ treatment in Salt Lake City.
Modern, Evidence-Informed Chiropractic Care
Modern chiropractic care often combines spinal adjustments with other approaches designed to improve movement and function. Depending on a patient’s needs, care may include soft tissue therapy, corrective exercises, massage therapy, and guidance for maintaining mobility at home.
Evaluation is also individualized. Rather than relying on routine imaging for every patient, Dr. Angie considers health history, symptoms, movement, and orthopedic assessment to determine an appropriate approach. When imaging or additional medical evaluation is warranted, patients can be referred accordingly.
This evidence-informed approach keeps care focused on each patient’s individual findings rather than relying on the same routine for everyone.

What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Visit
In Salt Lake City, Utah
Your first visit is about understanding what may be contributing to your symptoms before deciding on the right approach to care. Dr. Angie Canada takes time to understand what you are experiencing, how it is affecting your daily activities, and what you would like to be able to do more comfortably.
1. We Start With Your History and Goals
Your visit begins with a discussion of your symptoms, health history, previous injuries, daily activities, and treatment goals. This helps Dr. Angie understand not only where you are experiencing discomfort, but also the activities and movement patterns that may be contributing to it.
2. We Evaluate Movement and Function
Your examination may include range of motion, orthopedic testing, movement assessment, and evaluation of the joints and surrounding soft tissues. The goal is to identify areas of restriction or dysfunction that may be related to your symptoms.
3. We Build a Personalized Care Plan
Based on the findings, Dr. Angie will discuss an appropriate treatment approach with you. Care may include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, massage therapy, corrective exercises, or other supportive techniques available at Canada Chiropractic. When imaging or additional medical evaluation is warranted, that will be discussed as well.
Care is led by Dr. Angie Canada, DC, a graduate of the University of Western States. Before becoming a chiropractor, she spent 13 years as a massage therapist, giving her an integrated perspective on both joint movement and the surrounding soft tissues.
